We don't celebrate Thanksgiving in Australia but that doesn't mean we take things for granted. I reckon it doesn't matter what part of the world you are from many people celebrate being thankful in one way or another. There are many things I am thankful for, one of which is listening to my father when it came to buying a house. He had always taught me that rent money was dead money and that it was a whole lot better to invest in a home and pay interest to the bank rather than throw money at the landlord. He also suggested that I pump as much money in as I was able, over and above the normal payments as this would save me thousands of dollars. Yep, I sure am thankful for that piece of advice. EXCELLENT post, my friend. I’m thankful today for your reminder (pun intended).

Seriously I love the idea of using Thanksgiving as a way of reminding ourselves to be thankful EVERY day. I think that one may just make it into our family as a new tradition.
